How To Heal Cavities Naturally

Each year millions of people around the globe suffer from painful cavities and other dental issues. As a matter of fact, the NIDCR (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research) has conducted a study which reveals that nearly 26% of all adults from the ages of 20 to 64 have untreated tooth decay that can later get much worse. Of course many people's first thought when they notice a cavity forming is that they have to get to the dentist as soon as possible, but that's actually not true. Here are just a few of the most common ways to naturally heal cavities without having to make an appointment with a dentist.

1- Change Your Diet

– Most tooth decay is caused by the foods we eat and the beverages we drink. This is why you want to cut out sugary foods and drinks from your diet in order to help your cavities heal. You also want to include mineral rich foods in your diet such as grass-fed organic dairy, olive oil, kefir, grass-fed meats, bone broths and seafood.

2- Use a Mineralizing Toothpaste

– You may want to also try ditching your traditional fluoride toothpaste for a mineralizing one. Many mineralizing toothpastes can be fairly expensive, but you can always make your own with a about 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, approximately 20 drops of peppermint oil, 2 tablespoons of aluminum free baking soda, a bit of calcium powder and a tablespoon of xylitol or 1/8 teaspoon of Stevia.

3- Oil Pulling

– Another easy and natural way to heal cavities is by oil pulling. This method has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries because is draws out toxins from the body and cleans the entire mouth. The process of oil pulling consists of swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil around in your mouth for about 20 minutes before spitting it out into a plastic bag to throw into the waste. You don't want to spit the oil into your sink as it will be full of bacteria. Also, keep in mind that the best time to do oil pulling is in the morning before you brush your teeth.

  1. Thank you for the non-Bentonite toothpaste recipe. I can't use Bentonite because I still have mercury fillings. I hope to have them removed one day- but until then I need a remineralizing toothpaste. I also have a question- what type of calcium powder? I have Calcium lactate pills I could easily grind for use- would that work as well or is there a better calcium powder?

    1. Calcium lactate is already great. It will do the trick. Mercury fillings are a very serious business. You have to take them seriously. We are talking about a Neurotoxin that Could Make You Really Sick. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/07/29/dangers-amalgam-fillings.aspx
